Intravenous anesthesia is a safe, cost-effective, and convenient means of completing dental care while you sleep. Conscious sedation, deep sedation, or general anesthesia can be administered comfortably in your dentist’s office.
Because you are completely comfortable, we can do years of dental treatments in one or two visits. We can replace crowns or dentures, restore sore gums to good health, whiten yellow or stained teeth, fix a chipped tooth, and more. People with very busy schedules can get the dental care they need, easily and quickly.

Does my insurance cover the cost of anesthesia?
Many insurance providers do not cover the cost of anesthesia for dental treatment. For this reason, it is important to contact your medical and dental provider prior to your appointment.
Is payment for anesthesia due the day of treatment?
Yes. You are responsible for the payment in full the day of treatment, regardless of your insurance coverage. The fee for anesthesia is based upon the dentist’s treatment time and recovery. San Ramon Dental Care office will contact you to discuss all fees and payment.
Prior to the anesthesia appointment, the anesthesiologist will contact you in order to thoroughly review your medical history. A limited physical examination will be performed the day of the visit.
On the day of your appointment, there are several recommendations. You will be informed about food and fluid intake guidelines prior to the appointment. It is important not to have a meal before anesthesia. It is important to know that if you are sick, please contact the San Ramon Dental Care office.
You will be tired and sleepy following intravenous anesthesia. You will need to return home and plan minimal activity until the next day. You may return to your regular routine the following day.

Don't Forget to Floss!
Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. Decay-causing bacteria can hid between teeth where toothbrush bristles can't reach. Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between teeth and under the gum line.
Visit Our Office Regularly!
Take good care of your smile. Remember to visit the dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams.
Mouthwash Is Important, Too!
Brushing and flossing may not be enough. The ADA now recommends using an antimicrobial mouthwash to reduce plaque and prevent gingivitis.
